Street Stock Compact
Any UniBody FWD or RWD Sedan or Station wagon, Max 112” wheelbase, 6 CYLINDER MAX.
1. You may move the wire harness to the backside of the motor or to the inside of the vehicle. Simplified harnesses, distributor and carb swaps are allowed. You may swap 4 and 6 cylinders, must be direct bolt up, no modifying engine or trans mounts and or mounting, and must be Manufacturer to Manufacturer, no cross breeding.
2. Aftermarket shifters will be allowed, no aftermarket pedals. Headers are allowed with a simple 6” tall protector attached to the header itself only, and cannot reinforce or come in contact with anything structural.
3. Front Bumper only, Must be an Original OEM or 10 gauge OEM replacement, no pointies or aftermarket replicas without approval. The bumper may be seam welded together, no added metal and cannot be loaded. If you choose to not run an OEM bumper, you will be allowed a piece of 4”x4”x1/4” tubing no longer than 60” and non loaded. No welding or reinforcing of bumpers that is not specified in this rule set. Square frame off and butt weld. (NO STUFFING UNIBODIES, WE WILL BE SCOPING THEM). Bumper mounting is to be 26” max to the top of the bumper to the ground. You can have 2 strands of #9 wire per side from bumper to core support to keep bumper from falling off, #9 wire must not be in front of the radiator.
4. You are Allowed to weld one extra front bumper bracket per frame rail from bumper to unibody. ½” weld max, material size is 2”x2” angle, 4” long, ¼” thick max and must be run vertically, not horizontal. In Addition to this you will be allowed a 3”x6”x1/4” flat bumper strap with ½” welds, cannot be internal of the frame and has to attach to the back side of the bumper. This may be used on any of the 4 sides of the frame external. Anything after 6.5” behind the bumper will be cut off, not washed off.
5. Doors can be welded 6” on 6” off vertical seam only with 3”x1/8” flat strap max. (van tailgates not included) You will be allowed a 18” tall by 1/8” flat plate across the center of the drivers door no more than 6” past the door seams, this may be welded or bolted.
6. Hood and hatch/tailgate must be held shut with chain, #9 wire or 3/8 bolts 6 spots max with 4 strands of wire per location. If using bolts, Stamped washers only ½” max. Do not use angles welded back to back to hood and fender, bolts through sheet metal only with no welds. HOOD and TRUNK MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION.
7. You can have a maximum of 4-point cage that does not extend more than 12” behind the drivers seat measured from the hinge point of the seat’s vertical backing. You are allowed 2 down bars within the front driver and front passenger doors inner front and rear seams. If your halo goes to the floor, these will count as your two down bars. You can have a fuel tank protector, but it can only be wide enough to protect the fuel cell. (NOT DOOR TO DOOR). You MUST have a halo bar which must bolt thru the roof in 2 spots with 2 ½” bolts 6” long, using store bought hardware. All cage gussets must stay on the interior of the 4 point cage.
8. All cars MUST have some sort of front window bar, chain, wire or strap to keep the hood from coming into the car. 2 Max. These must attach from the windshield cowling to the roof with no more than 6” of overlap on either side.
9. Fuel tanks must be moved into the back seat area if behind the rear axle. Factory fuel tank preferred to stay under the vehicle if in front of the rear axle. No factory tanks in the back seat, Metal tanks only, no plastic tanks, must be mounted safely and securely(this means no ratchet straps, plumbers tape, seat belts, etc.......) All fuel lines must be high pressure for EFI systems with double clamps, no duct taping lines together, please make these nice and secure with no leaks. Fuel pump must have an on/off switch of some kind, and a shut off valve on the tank.
10. Battery (maximum of 2) needs to be mounted and covered in the passenger floorboard. Battery mounting cannot reinforce the frame.
11. Suspension needs to remain stock other than you can weld the strut shaft or use cable clamps to make the car sit higher, you may also chain or wire to limit suspension travel. This may be done with 1 spot per wheel consisting of 4 strands of 9 wire around the unibody area or 1 loop of 3/8 chain with a 4” long bolt. Do not abuse this rule.
12. Any tire and wheel combo. Must have brakes!!!
13. All vehicles will be allowed (4) 4”x4”x1/4” square repair plates attached to the vehicle with ½” weld max. These must be external of the frame. Whatever you cut off you lose.
14. If it does not state it in this rule set, it cannot be done, this should be a simple weekend build and go have fun.
